Aqua-airius

Aqua-airius offers many technical and economic benefits. The Aqua-airius is a biological filter that is applied in the treatment of both waste water and air. It has the unique functionality of treating water and air simultaneously: a separate investment in air treatment is no longer necessary, while the costs for the filter can be easily recovered because of the reduced waste water charges. But this filter also offers interesting benefits even if used "just" for waste water or air.

Making money from thin air

Unfortunately the treatment of waste water and polluted air and gas is always a costly affair. Thankfully the costs of water treatment can be compensated by lower levies and reduced costs for waste transport. Previously, the treatment of polluted air and gases always came with high costs: the treatment is mandatory and there are no "benefits" in the way of tax reduction to compensate. The combined treatment of both water and air/gases offers enticing economic benefits. After all, investments in separate air/gas treatments are not necessary, while the costs for the combined treatments can usually be easily recovered by the financial benefits that waste water treatment offers.

High Capacity

Compared to other air/gas or waste water treatment systems, the Aqua-airius is characterized by high returns as well as high capacity without using any chemical additives for pre-treatment, making it a great replacement for the traditional chemical pre-treatment. These benefits result in low investment and operational costs. For instance, for the treatment of highly concentrated waste water streams the system can handle up to 20 kg of COD (m³ carrier . day). The required carrier volume is specifically adjusted for each situation and may vary from 50 m³ to 200 m³. A filter with a specific carrier volume of 100 m³ can also treat a minimum of 30,000 Nm³/h of air, simultaneously, with large quantities of waste water.
